How to File Your Case at the Dubai Rental Disputes Centre

An attempt to reach a mutually satisfactory resolution without formal proceedings. Many cases settle at this stage — the fastest and least costly option.

If conciliation fails — the case moves to a specialised judge who issues a binding ruling. Most cases are resolved within 45 to 90 days.

For cases exceeding AED 50,000, either party may appeal the ruling before the RDC Appeals Circuit.

RDC rulings are enforceable after satisfying the applicable legal conditions and procedures, supervised by the Enforcement Department.

Registered tenancy contract (Ejari) · Emirates ID or passport · Payment receipts · Any written correspondence, emails, or WhatsApp messages related to the dispute.

Documents are generally submitted digitally via the RDC online portal or Dubai REST app. Some cases may require additional procedures per RDC guidance.

RDC fees vary by case type. For many rental cases: 3.5% of annual rent value — minimum AED 500, maximum AED 20,000. Financial claims may differ.
